After being turned away the first night of Kelis’ labor due to drunkenness, Nas was finally allowed into the hospital to see baby Knight. Kelis was in labor for just about 3 days, which reminds me why I’m never having children. Along with their new bundle of joy came the finalization of the bitter custody battle. A judge ordered Nas to pay Kelis $55,000 a month in combined spousal and child support, the mortgage on their L.A. home, the baby’s nurse, prenatal expenses and medical insurance, and lastly $35,000 to Kelis’ lawyer Laura Wasser. This could possibly have been the best and worst day of Nas’ life.
